Rox hold off Starfires

BROCKTON – J.P. Knight went 3-for-4 with a homer, three runs and four RBIs, and the Brockton Rox held off the Westfield Starfires 12-10 Sunday night at Campanelli Stadium.
Joe Sullivan also homered for Brockton, scored a run, and had three RBIs.
Brockton (20-18) led 4-1 after three innings before Westfield (12-26) exploded for six runs in the top of the fifth inning. The Rox responded with five more of their own in the bottom half of the fifth for a 9-7 lead.
Brockton (added three insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth, which proved to be the difference as Westfield rallied for three in the top of the ninth, but ultimately fell short.
Devin Kellogg (double, walk, run), Thomas Joyce (home run, walk, 3 runs, 2 RBIs), Christian Walsh (run, RBI), Dolan Ocasal (2 runs, 3 RBIs), and Andrew Ciacciarelli each finished with two hits apiece for Westfield.
The Starfires committed three errors.
