WESTFIELD – The St. Mary High School girls’ tennis slipped by Sci-Tech Monday at Stanley Park to improve to 3-9 overall.
St. Mary’s Casey Rutledge won at third singles, 6-3, 6-0, Emily Wodell and Abbie Rix won at first doubles, 6-1, 6-0, and the Saints won by default at second doubles.
St. Mary’s celebrated “senior day” by honoring its lone senior, Jeanette Peretti, a solid three-star sports athlete who played soccer and basketball, and has enjoyed the spot at No. 1 singles all season for the girls’ tennis team.
