WESTFIELD – Ali Stanlewicz scored at the 31:28 mark of the second half to lift the St. Mary girls’ soccer team to a thrilling 1-0 win over Putnam Tuesday at Westfield Middle School South.
Lauren Chapdelaine assisted on the play.
St. Mary goalie Aisling Butler (4 saves) earned a shutout. Putnam’s keeper, Sheilyn Rodriguez, finished with 16 saves.
The Saints return to action Wednesday against Holyoke Catholic. The site shifts to the north middle school. Game time is 4 p.m.
