BOSTON – Senior Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) recorded her third career double-double to lead the Suffolk University Women’s Basketball team to a 49-41 victory over the Westfield State University Owls on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 1, at the Regan Gymnasium.

Westfield State freshman Keri Doldoorian (Whitinsville, Mass.) made it a two possesion game with thirty-eight seconds remaining as she connected on a pair of free-throws to make it 43-37. Ruys then made four consecutive free-throws, with Rogers adding a pair for the Rams as they closed out the victory.
Senior Briana Kelly (Hampden, Mass.) scored four of her six points in the game in the final 20 seconds of the contest, but it was the Rams ability to convert from the charity stripe that proved to be the difference as they were 17-for-23 as a team in the game, compared to 9-for-19 for the Owls.
Suffolk also held an 18-2 advantage in points off of turnovers.
Ruys finished the game with 10 points for Suffolk, while sophomore Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) scored five points, had six rebounds and three steals.
The loss drops Westfield State to a 3-2 mark on the season. The Owls will be back in action on Tuesday night as they host Eastern Connecticut State University in non-conference action.
