TURNERS FALLS – The Westfield Voc-Tech softball team continues its ascent to the postseason.
On Friday, Voc-Tech overcame some mistakes on the road to defeat Franklin Tech, 18-9.
Stephanie Allen (3-for-4, 4 RBIs) and Amber Lindsay (2-4, 3 RBIs) sparked the offense, Ashley Lees and Megan Illnicky anchored the defense, and Cathie Iglesias made three great plays at second base for the Tigers.
It was the seventh win for Voc-Tech, who needs two more victories to qualify for the Western Massachusetts Division III tourney.
