SPRINGFIELD – It rained, and rained, and rained … goals for the Westfield Technical Academy girls’ soccer team.
Two WTA players notched hat tricks plus in a 13-0 Tigers’ blowout victory over host Commerce Thursday.
Jessica Rabtor and Heather Lannon recorded five and four goals, respectively for Westfield Tech, which raced out to a 4-0 first half lead. Tigers’ Liliya Stepanchuk notched two, and Sam Melchionne and Marina Levkha each scored one.
Westfield Tech goalie Emily White (2 saves) earned a shutout.

Brownies slip past Bombers
Agawam 3, Westfield 2

Sara Karen netted a hat trick as Agawam slipped past visiting Westfield. Erin McDermott scored on a penalty kick for the Bombers and assisted on Shelby Chambers’ goal.
Westfield goalies’ Jessica Healey and Lindsay Cousins combined for 7 saves.

Eagles silence STM
Franklin Tech 2, St. Mary 0

St. Mary played a solid game, but unfortunately could not find the back of the net against Franklin Tech. Saints’ goalie Francesca DePergola, who was under attack all game, came up with 33 saves.
Sam Manchino, Jenna Turrini, and Stephanie Allen delivered notable defensive efforts, and forwards Lexi Shedd, Olivia Strong, Jessica Crosby, and Chloe Lussier played a hard-fought game.

BOYS’ SOCCER
Olivieria, Smith down Saints
Smith Voke 3, St. Mary 2

Tomaz Olivieria scored two goals, and Spencer Boland had one to lead Smith Voke past St. Mary. Saints’ Patrick Boyle had one goal, and Drew Collins had an assist.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Lancers sweep WHS
Longmeadow def. Westfield 25-20, 25-15, 25-20

Longmeadow’s Caroline McCoy (7 kills, 6 aces), Abbie Mokwuah (5 kills, 2 blocks), and Brittney Cunningham (23 assists) combined to take down visiting Westfield with a sweeping effort.
Samantha Sperling (6 kills, 4 blocks), Alexa Morin (5 kills, 4 blocks), and Kelsey Johnstone (10 assists, 3 aces) led the Bombers.
