WESTFIELD – If the opponents of Westfield Technical Academy’s boys’ soccer team think that goals are coming from all over when facing the unbeaten Tigers, they are telling no lies.
Five different players scored to lead Westfield Tech to a 6-0 win over St. Mary Monday at Jachym Field.
Tyler Hall led the pack with two goals, and Vitaliy Tereschchuck, Vitaliy Melnik, Phillip Lisyanyy, and Josh Bush each scored one.
“It was a good league win, and it was a great team win where everyone got playing time,” Westfield Tech coach Kyle Dulude said.
The road is about to get a bit tougher though as the Tigers travel to Lenox Thursday to take on the Millionaires, who just beat the area’s second-ranked team, Pittsfield, 3-1.
Said Dulude: “We need a good practice (Tuesday).”

GIRLS’ SOCCER
Saints go down fighting
Franklin Tech 2, St. Mary 0

St. Mary’s peppered the Franklin Tech goal with 17 shots but the Eagles thwarted every effort.
“The girls moved the ball well, and attacked at every opportunity,” St. Mary coach Andy Lussier said. “Their communication is what really made the difference in today’s game.”
St. Mary’s Olivia White, Sam Mancino, and Lexi Shedd delivered tough play, and combined with Jenna Turrini, Brianna Rivera, and Steph Allen to make it tough for Franklin Tech to get much going.
Jess Crosby and Francesca DePergola combined for 28 St. Mary saves in net. With 12 saves from DePergola, the Saints’ senior needs 56 more to reach 1000 for her career.
“They all fought hard to the end and never gave up,” coach Lussier said. “It was great to see the fire in this group of girls. They want to win.”
