WESTFIELD – Dominic Rosario scored two goals – one on a penalty kick and a second from 45 yards out – and Jon Goretskiy had two scores to lead Westfield Tech to an 8-0 rout of Hampden Charter School of Science in a high school boys’ soccer game Thursday at Bullens Field.
Josh Bush entered the game for Westfield Tech on a corner kick and continued his run from entering at midfield, timing his run-and-kick and finishing the play on a great header for his first career varsity goal. Five minutes later, he assisted Alex Stepanchuk on a great through ball.
Vitaliy Borodin also scored for the Tigers. Sergiy Kabysh had three assists.
A total of 22 players shared equal playing time for Westfield Tech.
“It was a great team win,” Tigers coach Kyle Dulude said.

HCSS squashed Tigers’ comeback

Westfield Technical rallied from a 2-0 first-half deficit before bowing against HCSS Thursday at Jachym Field.
Heather Lannon had a hand in all three Westfield Tech goals, scoring two and assisting on another from Emily White. Tigers’ Sydnie Brock made two assists.
Emily White and Hannah Roberts combined for 10 Westfield Tech saves.

Terriers blank Bombers
West Springfield 2, Westfield 0

Anna Solitario scored one goal and assisted on another – both in the first half – to help West Side escape the Whip City with a narrow victory.
Westfield goalie Jessica Healey collected 17 saves.

Pacers elude Rams
Chicopee 4, Southwick 3

Chicopee edged Southwick in a game which saw four goals – two from each team – scored in the final five minutes.
Alex Mello had one goal and two assists for Southwick, and Rams’ Lydia Kinsman scored twice.

Gators win thriller
Gateway 2, Easthampton 1

Gateway scored one goal in each half to come away the victor. Samantha Belardo and Nina Iglesias were each credited with an assist.
Gateway goalie Becca Herman finished with three saves.

Sean Murphy (39), Liam Whitman (41), Neil Sheehan (42), Ari Schwartz (42) led Westfield (6-3) at Tekoa Country Club’s par 36.

Longhi, Rams strong
Southwick 15.5, Hampshire 8.5

James Longhi shot a team-low 35 to lead Southwick (7-1, 5-0) at Edgewood Golf Course. Rams’ Joe Stratton (40), Bradley Durand (41), and Chris Molta (42) were solid as well.

King leads the Academy
Monson 21, Westfield Tech Academy 3

Westfield Tech’s Matt King and Monson’s Nick Kratovil medaled with 40s at East Mountain Country Club.

JV GIRLS’ SOCCER
Southwick 3, Chicopee 1

Emily Giancola, Mikaila Davenport, and Clare Hanna scored one goal apiece to lead Southwick (3-2-1) to victory.
Rams’ Shea O’Neill had two assists, and Zelida Madera had one.
Southwick keepers’ Hannah Gerrish and Maya Daley combined for six saves.
