WESTFIELD – Everything that the Longmeadow-Westfield co-operative girls’ high school hockey has worked toward paid off in one lump sum.
Longmeadow profited from a 3-point effort from one of its Westfield players, Bailey Tymeson, who finished with two goals and one assist to help the Lancers topple top-ranked Shrewsbury Sunday, 4-3.
Katie Joyal (Longmeadow) and Karalyn Jones (Wilbraham) each had one goal and one assist, and Westfield natives Maddie Melletier (3 assists) and Mackenzie Pelletier (1 assist) also lent a hand for the Lancers.
Longmeadow’s Kayla Brown (Sabis) collected 28 saves.

Groton-Dunstable rallied for a third-period goal to force a 1-1 tie against Westfield Saturday at Amelia Park Ice Arena.
Westfield scored its lone goal in the first period, courtesy of Zach Jarvis. Ryan Porter assisted on the play.
Bombers’ goalie Cameron Parent made 29 saves.
