WESTFIELD – Westfield State University struck for thee goals in the opening 12 minutes in a 4-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletics Conference victory over Salem State University on Saturday night, Oct. 12.
The Owls improves to 2-2 in the MASCAC and 4-8 overall. Salem drops to 1-3 and 1-10.
Kevin Bengle (West Springfield) began the scoring barrage by finding the back of the nest 1:37 into the game with an assist from Dan Brady (Wilbraham).
Dom Cavallini (Springfield) scored 4:37 into the game with an assist from Eric Andreski (Westfield). Brady scored an unassisted goal to give the Owls the insurmountable early lead.
Zack Horn (Carver) capped the scoring in the 76th minute with an assist from Dave Anderson (Springfield).
Westfield outshot Salem, 19-7.
