WESTFIELD – The WSU ACHA Club Hockey Team finished its regular season as the NECHA American South Div. regular season Champs and set a “Club Best” 17-3-1 overall record.
The OWLS will travel to Nashua, NH Saturday afternoon for a NECHA Conference Championship semi-final game versus a North Division qualifier. The puck will drop at the Conway Arena at 4:10 p.m. Semi-final winners play for the conference title Sunday at 2:10 p.m.
All Games are available for view on via “Livebarn”.
At the next level, their Official ACHA D2 season record of 15-2-1 currently has the Owls well positioned as one of the top 10 teams in a very strong Northeast Conference.
While WSU ACHA Club Hockey Head Coach Jesse Peters and captains Tom Burgess, Nate Grugin, and Kevin O’Neil are busy preparing the team for this weekend’s NECHA tournament, they were also keeping a close eye on the ACHA final season power rankings. And for good reason, as a top 12 final ranking would earn the Owls Club Hockey Team their first trip to the ACHA Regional playoffs, held in Keene, N.H. this Feb 28-March 1. The top two bracket winners of the regionals will receive invitations to the ACHA National Championship Tournament in Frisco, TX.
