SPRINGFIELD – The Westfield Voc-Tech softball team picked up right where it left off, finishing off Renaissance 17-3 Wednesday to improve to 11-4 in the Tri-County League.
The game was halted Tuesday midway through the first inning due to inclement weather.
Voc-Tech’s Elyza Colson and Steffany Costa had two hits apiece. Tigers’ Brandi Vangelder, Katie Nesmelova, Megan Illnicky, and Cathie Iglesias each had a hit.
Illnicky struck out three batters and walked none in pitching a one-hitter. Her defense provided support behind her, including five great plays from Vangelder at shortstop.
