Mastello solid in WHS defeat

WESTFIELD – Karly Mastello led the charge at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, and Grace Templeton had two RBIs. But it was not enough as the Westfield Bombers fell to the Northampton Blue Devils 12-6 in a high school softball game Wednesday.
“The top of their lineup was strong,” Westfield coach Mary Seid of the opposition’s best bats.
“Our defense committed too many errors, which all resulted in runs,” she added. “If we make those plays, then the momentum of the game changes. Our team is young, and we need to learn from that.”
