WESTFIELD – The Westfield State University men’s cross country team captured the team title in the 18th Annual James Earley Invitational Saturday, Oct. 12, at Stanley Park.
There were 35 full teams and 347 runners participating in the popular invitational. Westfield scored 77 points to edge Division II Sienna College (84 points).
Sophomore Tim Shea of West Springfield was Westfield’s top runner, placing third with a time of 26::08.02 on the 8K (5 miles) course.
Westfield freshman Ben Parzich of Agawam finished sixth in 26:29.29, followed by sophomore Mike Skelly (20th), freshman Chris Williams (21st), and senior Mike Kelleher (27th).
Babson College junior Mark Gulesian crossed the finish line first in 25:59.47.
