Sabadosa becomes second 2-time winner

It was a rough-and-tumble Week 11 in the National Football League as proven by the low win totals across the board in our Beat The Putz contest.
By the way, what in the world were the Carolina Panthers thinking about going for a 2-point conversion for the win against the lowly Detroit Lions. What was their head coach thinking? Apparently he had little confidence in his defense.
I managed a respectable 7-4 record, but still paltry by my lofty standards. I was not alone though as only six entrants surpassed my mark.
Stephen Sabadosa, of Westfield claimed his second victory of the season by going 9-2. He also finished first in Week 8. Congratulations … times two!
Sabadosa joins previous winners James Vincent (Week 1), Robert Piper (Weeks 2, 6), Ed Antil (Week 3), Gary Francis (Week 4), Marion Zomek (Week 5), Stan Kozik (Week 7), Andy Unterreiner (Week 9), and Alan Zalewa (Week 10).
Each and every weekly winner walks away with a gift certificate to The Tavern Restaurant and is entered into our exclusive grand prize drawing for a Super Bowl spread courtesy of North Elm Butcher Block (1st place), a charcoal grill from Manny’s Appliances (2nd place), and a $50 gift certificate to International Food Market.
Still, six weeks remain.
Now that the New England Patriots have had a well-timed bye, they will set their sights on the New York Jets. Hopefully, Brady, Gronk, Edelman, Gordon, Michel, and company have fixed their recent ills. Getting the chance to take a bite out of the Big Apple should help.
