Saints honor Wounded Warriors; game halted

WESTFIELD – On Wednesday night, the St. Mary Saints baseball team honored the Wounded Warriors Project, having raised some $10,000. Westfield’s American Legion Post 124 Color Guard held a special ceremony prior to the Saints’ game against Pioneer Valley Regional.
Despite the planned festivities, the game itself was suspended in the bottom of the first inning due to stormy weather with Pioneer leading 3-0. The game will be continued Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Westfield North Middle School.
