WVT shocks Putnam; Devils tip Rams

WESTFIELD – Westfield Voc-Tech exploded for three goals – all in the second half – to shock Putnam 3-0 in a girls’ soccer game on Monday.
Steffany Costa scored four minutes into the second half with an assist from Elena Levkha, and tallied another goal five minutes later on a pass from Brandi VanGelder. VanGelder rounded out the scoring when she took a beautiful pass from Bria Curran.
Voc-Tech goalie Megan Illnicky made one save and claimed a shutout.
Northampton 1, Southwick 0
Molly King scored the game-winner, and Northampton goalie Mia Kerstetter (3 saves) earned the shutout.
Southwick goalie Megan Zabik made seven saves.
