HS WRAP: Ludlow silences WHS

LUDLOW – Robert Bernardara made 18 saves in net for the Westfield High, who held Ludlow in check throughout much of their season-opening high school boys’ soccer game Tuesday.
It was the season opener for Westfield. For Ludlow, it was their third contest.

WESTFIELD – Jake Parsons shot a team-low 42, and Matt King picked up two points with a 46 for Westfield Voc-Tech at Tekoa Country Club.

AGAWAM – Cam Dirico led Westfield with a 40 at Crestview Country Club.
BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY
Westfield 18, Ludlow 32
WESTFIELD – Westfield Ben Doiran won the race in 16:30 at Stanley Park. Cheyenne Grabiec, of the Bombers finished runner-up in 17:48.
Greenfield 23, Southwick-Tolland 35; Holyoke Catholic 27, Southwick 28
Southwick’s Chris Roy finished second in the 3-mile race at 18:38.
