Palmer beats Gateway baseball 8-1

HUNTINGTON – Palmer defeated Gateway 8-1 in a high school baseball game Thursday.
Gateway threatened with a lead-off single in the bottom of the fifth inning, and a one-out single two batters later, but Palmer pitcher Jake Graveline struck out a batter and force out another to end the inning.
Graveline scattered six hits on the mound; Ed Sablak (2 hits, 2 RBIs) and Matt Blanchette (hit, 2 RBIs) provided the bulk of the offense.
Justin Edinger led Gateway with three hits.
